SAVANNAH, GA (August 25, 2015): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police arrested Eric Davis, 23, and charged him with aggravated assault for his role in a domestic altercation involving a gun this morning.
Just after 11 a.m. Central Precinct patrol officers responded to Heritage Place Apartments, where Davis had beaten and threatened his 27-year-old girlfriend. Davis left in the victim’s rental car. The victim fled on foot with a friend. The victim and her friend encountered Davis again near East 35th and Florence streets, where he opened fire at the women. Neither of the women were shot.
Having heard the vehicle description on police radios, agents from Metro’s Undercover Drug Investigation Team (The UNIT) spotted and followed Davis to West 39th and Burroughs Street near Fellwood Homes. Agents surrounded and arrested Davis. Metro’s Violent Crimes detectives and Forensics Unit also responded.
Davis is charged with aggravated assault and multiple traffic violations.
