SAVANNAH, GA (August 10, 2017) – Hundreds gathered this afternoon as the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department held a badge pinning ceremony at Trustees Theatre.
Eight women and 18 men graduated from the SCMPD’s Patrol School after completing an eight-week training course, which followed 11 weeks of training at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Garden City. Today, new officers’ family and friends joined them on stage for the Badge Pinning Ceremony.
Congratulations to Officers Bijan Abbassi, Connor Andrews, Carl Askey, La’Shekia Bost, Darren Bradley, Julie Cavanaugh, Landrum Counselman, Shakema Deal, Kalley Estep, Barrett Hood, Brandon Hower, Eugenia Lonnon, Tiesia Mickell, Nathaniel Monroe, Leo Naureus, Danielle Pimental, Bradley Pope, Brianna Rauscher, Eric Rimes, Aaron Sampson, Patrick Skinner, Tyler Suchoski, Kyle Vandever, James Ward, Joshua Warner, and Joshua Willison.
“This badge pinning ceremony represents a significant milestone in the lives and careers of these young men and women,” Chief Joseph H. Lumpkin Sr. said to the officers at the ceremony. “Most of these officers and their families will forever remember and cherish it. We are proud to welcome you and your families to the police department.”
