SAVANNAH — The Savannah Police Department is pleased to announce a badge pinning and promotion ceremony to be held on May 22, 2026, at the Savannah Civic Center Ballroom. The ceremony will commence at 1:00 p.m.
This event will honor 26 newly initiated officers and a lateral recruit and recognize the achievements of officers who have earned promotions within the department. The badge pinning ceremony is a significant milestone, symbolizing the commitment of our new officers to serve and protect the community. The promotion ceremony recognizes the hard work, leadership, and dedication of our existing officers as they take on new responsibilities.
“This is going to be a great day for our department,” said Lenny B. Gunther, Chief of Police. “We are proud to welcome so many new officers and recognize some of the best amongst us.”
Members of the media and the public are invited to attend. There will be opportunities for photographs and interviews with newly pinned and promoted officers following the ceremony.
