SAVANNAH, GA (January 9, 2012): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a Savannah man just before noon today.
Larry Giles, 24, of an East 35th Street address was standing in front of a barber shop on Ash Street between 36th and 37th streets about 11:35 a.m. when a black male walked up and fired several shots at him.
Giles was transported to Memorial University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Police are sorting through reports of a car seen leaving the area around the time of the shooting to determine a clear description of it.
Patrol, violent crimes detectives and forensics officers converged on the scene and have begun collecting evidence. The investigation is continuing.
