SAVANNAH, GA ( April 26, 2011) The Savannah-Chatham Metro Police have one man in custody after a failed attempted to steal air conditioners from an apartment building.
Just before 2:00 p.m., officers responded to a larceny in progress at Greengate Apartments. A caller stated that three suspects were tampering with two air conditioning units. When officers arrived they observed three suspects matching the description given. All three suspects ran.
One person matching the description was spotted in the breezeway of an apartment building a short time later. Raheem FRAZIER, 17, was positively identified as one of the suspects in the attempted theft. There were two other suspects. The first is described as a black male, late teens to early twenties, tall and slender, wearing a black shirt and dark shorts with an emblem on the left rear pocket. The second suspect is described as a black male late teens to early twenties, 5’8”, stocky build, wearing a white t-shirt and dark jeans.
The air conditioning units had been cut from their lines. A book bag containing tools was also located near the scene. FRAZIER was arrested and charged with criminal trespass, theft by taking and obstruction by fleeing. This is an ongoing investigation.
