A 47-year-old Savannah man was pronouced dead at Memorial University Medical Center on Monday night after a head-on collision on West 52nd Street.
Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are trying to determine why a westbound 1991 Mercury Villager minivan driven by John K. Geiger drifted into the eastbound lane before colliding with a 2000 Mitsubishi Diamante being driven by Samuel Williams, 75. Williams, also of Savannah, was not injured in the 9:30 P.M. collision.
Emergency Medical Technicians were unable to revive Geiger before transporting him from the collision at 52nd and Strevens Street.
The SCMPD Major Accident Investigation Team is continuing to investigate.
