SAVANNAH, GA. (August 22, 2014): Southside Precinct detectives of Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department are searching for the suspect responsible for at least two recent thefts on Savannah’s southside.
On the morning of Wednesday, Aug. 13, Metro responded to an entering auto report at a Reynolds Street residence. Detectives learned the suspect made off with a purse containing several credit cards. Further investigation revealed the suspect used one of the cards multiple times at a BP station at Waters and DeRenne avenues. The suspect also made a high priced purchase at Walmart on Montgomery Cross Road. He returned to Walmart to attempt an additional purchase, but was hindered after the card was declined.
Walmart’s surveillance cameras recorded the suspect walking out of the store with a fraudulently purchased television.
The suspect is a black male. He is tall with a husky build.
Investigators also have linked him to an entering auto report that resulted in the theft of another purse recovered on the 200 block of Andover Drive.
Anyone with information on this suspect’s identity or location is asked to call Metro’s Southside Precinct at 912-658-1692.
