SAVANNAH, GA (May 6, 2016): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Islands Precinct detectives are investigating a burglary that occurred on March 3 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Investigators believe at least two suspects forcefully entered an unoccupied home near the intersection of Islands Drive and Barnett Avenue. The suspects reportedly stole several items of Confederate memorabilia valued at several thousand dollars. The collection included a black 1907 antique Cary safe on wheels with a silver handle and faded lettering on the front. The case contained a Confederate coin collection. Electronics and a firearm were also reportedly taken during the burglary.
Investigators ask the public’s help in locating these items and the suspects in this case.
