SAVANNAH, GA (September 6, 2016): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes detectives have launched an investigation into reports of an armed robbery and shooting in the Tatemville area at about 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 7.
Metro responded to the 900 block of Sherman Avenue after a reported gunfire exchange between a victim and two armed robbery suspects. Nearby, on the 800 block of Garey Avenue, police located one adult male shooting victim who was transported by ambulance to Memorial University Medical Center in critical condition. Soon after, another adult male shooting victim arrived at Candler Hospital seeking treatment of a gunshot wound.
SCMPD detectives are investigating circumstances surrounding this incident and any links between the three parties. Detectives believe this was a targeted shooting between previously acquainted individuals.
