SAVANNAH, GA (April 4, 2016):  The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m., April 4, in the 500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in the vicinity of Savannah High School.

As a result of the incident, school officials initiated a lockdown until the area was deemed safe by Metro officers.

The victim, a 19-year-old male, was getting into his vehicle when the shooter fired rounds at him from the second story of an apartment building nearby. Officers responded to the scene, interviewed witnesses and processed the scene.

The suspect is described as a young, light-skinned black male wearing a camouflage jacket and red “Duck Dynasty” hat.
