SAVANNAH, GA (November 24, 2015): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Robbery Unit seeks to identify the suspects who stole a vehicle from a bank on the 3500 block of West Bay Street late Monday night.
Metro responded to the incident at about 10:52 p.m. Investigators learned that the victim left his silver 2013 Chevrolet Impala running while using the ATM. Two male suspects arrived in a Beige Pontiac Grand Prix. One suspect reportedly exited the Pontiac before entering the victim’s car and driving away. The victim met police at a convenience store on the 2400 block of West Bay Street. No injuries were reported.
One suspect is a black male with a dark complexion, possibly in his mid-20s. He wore a black sweater during the incident. The second suspect’s description is unknown. Both vehicles were last seen driving east on Bay Street.
To reduce the odds of auto theft, SCMPD suggests locking vehicles at all times, never leaving keys in unoccupied vehicles and parking in highly illuminated locations after dark.
