SAVANNAH, GA (August 1, 2017) – Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police’s Violent Crimes detectives are investigating a shooting that was reported to have occurred near the intersection of East 37th Street and Paulsen Street on August 1.
At about 12:50 p.m., Khalid Felder, 21, arrived at the hospital by private vehicle with non-life-threatening injuries. Purportedly, the incident occurred near the intersection of East 37th Street and Paulsen Street.
Felder was uncooperative with detectives and initially gave a false name. It was determined Felder had six outstanding warrants through SCMPD and one warrant for violating his probation. He was arrested for these warrants and taken to the Chatham County Detention Center.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation. Investigators do not believe this to be a random shooting.
