SAVANNAH, GA (February 17, 2016): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Southside Precinct investigators arrested a 16 year old male for several entering auto cases on Savannah’s south side, Tuesday.
Approximately 18 entering auto cases in the Whitefield Avenue corridor were reported between Feb. 9 and Feb. 15, which led one victim to post video obtained from home surveillance footage on social media. A tip from a citizen led investigators to a residence on the 9900 block of Ferguson Avenue. Items linked to at least three entering auto reports were seized inside of the juvenile’s room.
The juvenile was then transported to the Southside Precinct for questioning and subsequently charged with three counts of entering auto and one count of theft by receiving stolen property. Additional charges may be pending. The suspect was transported to the Savannah Regional Youth Detention Center without incident.
This is an ongoing investigation.
