SAVANNAH, GA (July 11, 2016) – Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department officers arrested a man following an armed robbery and stabbing at approximately 9 p.m., July 10, near the intersection of Bull and Broughton streets.
Enrique Jenkins, 29, was arrested and charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault, in addition to an outstanding warrant.
Jenkins allegedly snatched a woman’s purse and attempted to flee when he was confronted by the victim’s husband and a bystander. The suspect stabbed the two men, causing non-life threatening injuries, and continued fleeing. He was arrested within minutes on Yates Street in Yamacraw Village, thanks to tips from several witnesses who followed the suspect from the scene.
Detectives urge any other witnesses or potential victims to come forward to help in the investigation.
