SAVANNAH, GA (December 31, 2012): Major Accident Investigation Team officers from the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department are requesting the public’s help in identifying and locating the SUV that struck a couple and left the scene Sunday night.
Hongli Zhang, 43, and her husband Ping Guo were crossing the north bound lane of Apache Avenue at Shawnee Road about 6:48 p.m. when the gold vehicle struck her and left the scene.
She was transported to Memorial University Medical Center with serious injuries.
Investigators are searching for a light gold Dodge Durango from the 1990s that should have damage to the left front corner and the left side view mirror.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Emergency 911 or call Crimestoppers at (912) 234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637). Tipsters to Crimestoppers remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
