SAVANNAH, GA (October 8, 2015): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes detectives are investigating an incident where pellets from a discharging firearm left a man with minor injuries and caused exterior damage to two apartment units on the 2500 block of Oak Forest Drive just after 11 p.m. on Tuesday.
Metro responded to both apartments and Memorial University Medical Center, where investigators learned that Justin Stephens, 21, was seeking treatment. Stephens arrived at MUMC in a privately owned vehicle. No other injuries were reported.
Stephens was reportedly sitting outside with a 20-year-old female and a 2-year-old male when shots were fired from a dark-colored vehicle. The vehicle may have headed south on LaRoach Avenue.
Circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation.
