SAVANNAH, GA (May 2, 2016): Multiple units of Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department joined forces in arresting a suspect with multiple felony warrants in the Savannah and Atlanta areas following a citizen’s tip on Monday, May 2.
Metro officers found Troy Young, 23, of Savannah on the 800 block of Cubbedge Street. Young was hiding beneath a pile of clothing behind a house. Just before 5 p.m. Metro’s West Chatham and Downtown precinct patrol officers, K-9 and Aviation units began searching the area when a citizen alerted police of Young’s whereabouts.
Young sustained a non-life-threatening K-9 bite during his apprehension and was taken to Memorial University Medical Center for care.
Young had outstanding warrants in Chatham County for three counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during commission of a crime and theft by receiving. He also had outstanding warrants in the Atlanta area for felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and obstruction.
The search lasted roughly one hour and 30 minutes.
