SAVANNAH, GA (June 20, 2017) – The death of a 35-year-old man who was pulled from the water near the Talahi Island Community Dock has been ruled an accidental drowning.
Officers were called to the dock near the intersection of Quarterman Drive and Falligant Avenue about 9 p.m. Monday for reports of a possible drowning. Witnesses told police Jesse Palmer had been swimming in the water and failed to resurface.
A team consisting of Metro officers, Marine Patrol, divers, firefighters, EMS and Eagle 1 searched the area for about two hours before Palmer’s body was recovered.
