SAVANNAH, GA (May 22, 2015): Traffic officers are investigating a two-vehicle collision in which a child was ejected and subsequently hospitalized Thursday afternoon.
Jamaar Bostick II, 7, was listed in serious but stable condition at Memorial University Medical Center after the 5:38 p.m. crash at Columbus Drive and Habersham Street.
He was a passenger in a black 2015 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Jamon W. Epps, 33, that collided with a white, 2003 Toyota Camry, driven by Penny S. Breslow, 62. Three others were transported for treatment of less serious injuries.
The Camry was traveling westbound on Columbus and attempted to turn left onto Habersham, striking the rear side of the Suburban. The collision caused the passenger side of the SUV to strike a utility pole, ejecting the child.
Another passenger in the Suburban, Euquail Bowles, 10, and the 7-year-old were hospitalized. Both drivers were treated and released.
The Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) of the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department continues to investigate.
