SAVANNAH, GA ( August 12, 2011) One man is in custody and charged with theft by receiving, after a stolen rental car is recovered with his print inside.
On July 2, Budget Rental Center, at the Savannah International Airport, reported one of their rental vehicles being in the ditch in front of the business. The vehicle was left running with a key in the ignition. After checking further, it was discovered that three other vehicles were missing in the Budget Car lot other than the vehicle in the ditch: a gray 2011 Hyundai Sonata, a black 2011 Chrysler Town & Country and a blue 2011 Town & Country. The fence to the business was damaged and the lock was cut.
All three vehicles were later recovered in the month of July. When the blue Town & Country was recovered and processed by Forensics, a thumb print was matched to Mark Deon Mack, 18. He was wanted by the Department of Juvenile Justice for probation violations. MACK was located Thursday in the 700 Block of E 34th Street. He was transported to RYDC for his warrant through DJJ. A warrant for Theft By Receiving Stolen Property (Auto) was served on Mack today at RYDC, and he was transported to the Chatham County Detention Center.
