SAVANNAH – The Savannah Police Department has arrested 18-year-old Victor Bernardo Salazar in connection with an accidental fatal shooting that occurred on August 21 in the 1400 block of Benton Blvd. and resulted in the death of an adult male.
At approximately 8:45 p.m., Northwest Precinct officers responded to a reported shooting in the area. Upon their arrival they found the victim in a residence, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. EMS transported him to Memorial Health University Medical Center for further treatment, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
Salazar was detained on-scene. After initial investigation, he was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault.
