SAVANNAH, GA (March 21, 2013): Twenty Metro recruits will be included in 35 cadets who graduate Friday from the Georgia Public Safety Training Center – Garden City on Friday.
The class represents nine different law-enforcement agencies. Graduation follows 11 weeks of intense training. Graduates are certified as sworn law enforcement officers in Georgia.
The ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. at the Fine Arts Auditorium on the campus of Armstrong Atlantic State University. Chief Deputy Roy Harris of the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office will be the guest speaker.
Some recruits will continue their training in their various departments. SCMPD recruits will continue their preparation with six additional weeks of training school before being pinned as officers.
