SAVANNAH, GA (September 15, 2011): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are seeking at least two suspects in the shooting of a 37-year-old woman on the porch of her house in the 1700 block of Reynolds Street Thursday afternoon.
Aianna Hill was transported to Memorial University Medical Center where she was undergoing emergency surgery after the 5:14 p.m. shooting. Her injuries were not expected to be life-threatening.
Police were canvassing the neighborhood looking for two black males seen running from the scene. No other description was immediately released. Another man in his 20s who had run from police was chased to nearby Duffy Street and found under a house. He was determined to be a friend of the victim and not believed to be involved in the shooting.
Police suspect the woman was an unintended victim after some relatives became involved in an argument with acquaintances who fired at them. She was leaning over the railing of the porch when she was struck.
Reynolds Street was closed from 32nd to 34th streets as part of the investigation.
