SAVANNAH, GA (November 26, 2011): Savannah-Chatham Metro Police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found floating in the Savannah River Saturday afternoon.
The white female, believed to be between 30 and 50 with shoulder-length, dirty blonde hair, was found in the water near Knoxbrook Creek by two fishermen who called authorities. They stood by until a Coast Guard boat was able to locate the body and take it to the Houlihan boat ramp.
The body was located in an area where Georgia, South Carolina, Effingham County and Chatham County meet. Violent Crimes detectives are trying to determine how long she had been in the water, where she may have entered the water and the cause of her death.
