SAVANNAH, GA (January 27, 2016): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team responded to a two-vehicle accident on Highway 80 that left a woman with serious injuries Tuesday afternoon.
At about 2:23 p.m. Rebekah Marchant, 20, and Emma Fulkerson, 17, were both driving west near the 8000 block of Highway 80. After crossing the Bull River Bridge, Marchant, who was driving a Hyundai Accent, was ahead of Fulkerson, who was driving a Toyota Tacoma. Marchant attempted to make a U-turn when her vehicle collided with Fulkerson’s.
Marchant was transported to Memorial University Medical Center for care. No other injuries were reported.
