SPD Seeks to ID Suspect in Robbery by Sudden Snatch

SAVANNAH, GA (June 5, 2018) – Savannah Police’s Robbery Unit is seeking information on a suspect who grabbed cash out of a register at a W. Bay Street business last month. 

The incident occurred about 6:30 p.m. May 13 at Dollar General, 2110 W. Bay Street. The clerk had just finished with a customer and still had the cash register open when the unknown subject reached across the counter and grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash from the drawer. He fled on foot. 

The subject was described as a slim-built black male, who is approximately 5-foot-10. He was wearing a white T-shirt, denim shorts and an Atlanta Braves cap.  

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Savannah Police detective tip line at (912) 525-3124. Information can also be forwarded to CrimeStoppers at (912) 234-2020. Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
