UPDATE: Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department Violent Crimes detectives have made an arrest in the Sept. 5 shooting on East 41st Street that critically injured a 16-year-old male. The suspect, a 15-year-old male, was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery, cruelty to children in the first degree, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Detectives believe this shooting stems from an earlier incident that happened between the two teens. The juvenile suspect remains at the Regional Youth Detention Center. The teen victim in this shooting is currently in stable, but critical condition.

METRO INVESTIGATES E. 41ST ST. SHOOTING
SAVANNAH, GA (September 5, 2016): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes detectives are investigating a shooting at a house on the 1200 block of East 41st Street, that critically injured a 16-year-old male on Monday, Sept. 5 just after 11 a.m.
Metro officers responded to the residence finding the critically injured victim. The victim was transported by ambulance to Memorial University Medical Center.
Circumstances surrounding this shooting remain under investigation. Detectives are, however, actively following leads and encourage citizens with knowledge of this shooting to come forward.
