SAVANNAH, GA (February 28, 2018) – Savannah Police’s Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating a Feb. 27 crash involving three vehicles that resulted in serious injuries.
About 4 p.m. Feb. 27, a Ford F-650 tow truck stopped at the stop sign on Park Avenue at Montgomery Street, and was then waved through the intersection by a driver of a Honda Civic who was waiting to turn left onto Park Avenue. The tow truck driver, who was identified as 55-year-old Richard Gilmore of Bluffton, S.C., saw an oncoming Cadillac on Montgomery Street, but continued through the intersection. The Cadillac struck the side of the tow truck, resulting in the tow truck striking the Civic, which was driven by Monique Washington, 27, of Savannah.
Multiple occupants in the Cadillac were seriously injured. Their identities are not available for release at this time.
