SAVANNAH, GA (December 2, 2018) – Savannah Police’s Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating a pedestrian-involved crash that resulted in serious injuries to a Fort Stewart soldier early today.
About 1:30 a.m., Sloan Dunlop, 24, was crossing Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard near Orange Street with a group of other pedestrians when Dunlop, who was in the rear of the group and not in a crosswalk, was struck by a southbound Isuzu Trooper, driven by James Middleton, 62, of Savannah. The impact resulted in Dunlop landing in front of an oncoming ambulance traveling northbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The driver of the ambulance could not stop before striking Dunlop. EMS immediately began emergency care and transported him to a hospital with serious injuries.
