SAVANNAH, GA (February 3, 2023): Savannah Police’s Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating a serious injury crash that occurred Feb. 2 while a Savannah man attempted to move his disabled vehicle off the roadway.
Officers responded to the crash at the intersection of Eisenhower Drive and Noble Oaks Drive around 8:30 p.m. According to a preliminary investigation, Kevin Deal’s Honda Accord had broken down in the intersection, and a Good Samaritan had stopped to assist him in moving the vehicle. The Good Samaritan was in the driver’s seat steering the vehicle, and Deal, 21, was at the rear of the vehicle pushing when a Toyota Corolla struck him and the Accord from behind. The Accord did have its hazard lights on at the time of the crash.
Deal, 21 was transported to Memorial Medical Center, where he is in critical but stable condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
