SAVANNAH, GA (November 9, 2017) – Metro’s Traffic Investigation Unit is investigating a Nov. 8 hit and run that occurred at 31st and Burroughs streets that resulted in serious injuries to a pedestrian.
About 11:30 p.m. officers were alerted of a hit and run involving a vehicle at Henry and E. Broad streets. Officers caught up to the fleeing gray 2000 Chevrolet Silverado at Anderson Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard. The vehicle stopped momentarily and then sped away. While following the path the vehicle took, officers discovered Taneka Stevens, 33, on the ground at 31st and Burroughs streets. Stevens had been stuck by the Silverado. She was transported to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The vehicle was found abandoned in the 200 block of 34th Street.
