SAVANNAH, GA (December 2, 2010) The Savannah- Chatham Metro Police have three people in custody after an attempted burglary and shooting.
5:43 p.m., officers were dispatched to corner Derenne and Waters avenues after receiving a call of shots fired. They responded and located the complainant. He told officers that a short time earlier three or four young males had attempted to break into his house in the 1100 Block of East 69th street while his girlfriend was in the house. He caught up to the suspects and confronted them, a scuffle ensued and one of the suspects fired a weapon at the victim. The suspects then fled the area.
A short time later, three suspects were located by police, one suspect successfully fled the area. The three young men were questioned by detectives and arrested. Marvin TELFAIR, 17, was charged with aggravated assault, burglary (attempt) and various firearms violations – and transported to Chatham County Detention Center. The second suspect , a juvenile was charged aggravated assault (party to the crime), burglary (attempt) and various firearms violations – and transported to Youth Detention Center (YDC). The third suspect, also a juvenile will be charged with burglary (attempt) and was released to his parents . (The suspect has no prior history of criminal activity, and YDC would not admit him.)
