SAVANNAH, GA (December 22, 2014): Bolstered by state troopers and drug agents, Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes Task Force resumed operations over the weekend with 10 felony arrests and the seizure of controlled substances and firearms.
Georgia State Patrol troopers from the Night Hawks unit and agents from the Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team joined hands with the Metro officers Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
Felony arrests included three for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, two fleeing to elude law enforcement officers, two possession of controlled substances (cocaine), criminal attempt at entering auto, a felony warrant and a felony parole violation.
The officers also issued eight misdemeanor arrests, served 41 traffic citations, recovered three firearms and a stolen vehicle. They also field interviewed 90 subjects.
