UPDATE: Joshua Lovett was arrested just before midnight on Tuesday by SCMPD officers in the 1900 block of E. Victory Dr.
SAVANNAH, GA (September 8, 2015): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes detectives are searching for Joshua Lovett, 30, wanted for shooting his mother and beating her fiancé during an altercation this afternoon.
At 12:09 p.m. Metro responded to the residence of Paula Lovett, 49, and her fiancé Thomas Mincey, 54 on the 3300 block Argyle Street. Paula Lovett was found inside suffering from a gunshot wound. Mincey was beaten with a baseball bat. Paula Lovett was transported to Memorial University Medical Center in critical condition. Mincey was transported to MUMC in serious but stable condition.
Investigators have obtained warrants for Joshua Lovett’s arrest. He is charged with two counts of aggravated assault.
Joshua Lovett is described as a black male with his hair styled in medium length twists. He is 5-7 and 160 pounds. He is known to frequent Carver Village and neighborhoods throughout Savannah’s west side.
Violent Crimes detectives believe Joshua Lovett is armed and dangerous. Anyone coming in contact with him should call 911 immediately.
