SAVANNAH, GA (December 18, 2015): Wednesday, Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Downtown Precinct patrol officers arrested two male suspects, ages 13 and 14, found riding in an SUV reported stolen on Tuesday.
At about 6:45 a.m. Metro officers responded to Frazier Homes near Emerald Drive after reports of several teens behaving suspiciously near a black GMC Yukon. While en route, officers observed the vehicle strike a curb near Brewer Street. The teens exited the SUV’s front seats, then fled on foot after hitting a pole. The suspects were apprehended by police soon after.
The SUV was reported stolen on Tuesday, from Tattnall and Hall streets. The vehicle was returned to its owner.
Both teens were arrested. The 14-year-old suspect is charged with theft by receiving stolen auto, obstruction by fleeing, criminal trespass, reckless driving and driving without a license. The 13-year-old is charged with criminal trespass and obstruction by fleeing.
