SAVANNAH, GA (September 24, 2018) – Savannah Police’s current services provided at the facility on Police Memorial Drive will cease this week and be transferred to other locations.
The Open Records Division, which issues police incident reports, and Criminal History, which issues background checks, will end operations on Police Memorial Drive at 5 p.m. on Sept. 26. Operations will move to the Northwest Precinct at 602 E. Lathrop Ave. and will re-open to the public in the new space at 8 a.m. Oct. 1.
Phone lines for both units will not be operational between Sept. 26 and Oct. 1. From Sept. 26 to Oct. 1, incident reports can still be requested by emailing scmpdopenrecords@savannahga.gov. After reopening on Oct. 1, Open Records and Criminal History can be reached at their new number – (912) 651-3617.
Tow release forms will move from the Police Memorial Drive location, effective at 7 a.m. Sept. 26, to Savannah Police Headquarters at 201 Habersham Street. The Customer Service Desk at headquarters is open from 7 a.m. to midnight and can be reached at (912) 651-6675.
