UPDATE (August 9, 2022): Kamari Johnson turned himself in to police on Aug. 8. He was booked into the Chatham County jail on a charge of burglary. The investigation continues.
UPDATE (August 8, 2022): Detectives have identified a suspect involved in a July church burglary as Kamari Javonn Johnson, 18.

SAVANNAH, GA (August 5, 2022): SPD detectives are seeking the public’s assistance identifying a person who broke into a Southside church in July and stole money.
The person’s image was captured on surveillance footage. He is described as a black male in his late teens to early 20s.
Officers were called to Southside Assembly of God, 401 Tibet Ave., on July 26 after someone discovered damage to the building. The suspect entered the church by throwing an object through the window and then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash located in the building.
