SAVANNAH – The Savannah Police Department has arrested 55-year-old Gregory Green in connection to a May 14 shooting in the 1000 block of E. 38th St. that resulted in the death of an adult male.
On May 14, SPD officers from Central Precinct responded to the scene at around 1:15 a.m. based initially on a ShotSpotter report. While en route they received reports of a person lying wounded in the street; they discovered him upon arrival. EMS arrived on the scene and life-saving measures were initiated, but the victim ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
After initial investigation, Gregory Green was identified as the suspect and taken into custody on May 16 by SPD Homicide and SWAT Units; with the assistance of Chatham County SWAT and Garden City PD. Green has been charged with murder and aggravated assault.
