SAVANNAH – Leearnell Williams, 34, has been arrested in connection with a March 9, 2024 fatal shooting in the 200 block of W. 61st Street. He has been charged with murder and aggravated assault.
SPD responded to the scene based on a ShotSpotter report at around 10 p.m. and discovered the victim suffering from a serious gunshot wound. The victim was provided immediate medical treatment and transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
“I’m proud of the hard work our officers and detectives put into this case,” said Lenny B. Gunther, Savannah Police Chief. “I think it is a reminder to our communities that we will actively and aggressively pursue anyone who inflicts gun violence on our city.”
