SAVANNAH –Savannah police detectives are investigating a May 18 shooting in the 8000 block of Waters Ave that left one adult male with minor injuries.
Officers responded to the scene at around midnight on reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim had driven himself to Memorial Health University Medical Center and witnesses directed officers towards where the suspect had run. Officers in the area located the suspect on Weiner Drive and attempted to detain him. The suspect fled on foot and was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit.
Corey McNeil, 37, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, reckless conduct, and obstruction.
