SAVANNAH – The Savannah Police Department has arrested Anthony Mitchell, 29, in connection with an April 10 auto theft incident. This was a collaborative effort across multiple agencies, units and officers through the use of Flock technology.
On April 10 at approximately 2:30 p.m., Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office contacted Chatham Dispatch to advise of a stolen 2022 Dodge RAM 1500 that was alerting Flock cameras throughout Chatham County municipalities. This alert activated due to Statesboro police having entered the vehicle tag into Flock.
The SPD Community Response Team and Patrol agencies located the stolen vehicle through Flock cameras as it traveled west on E. Victory Dr. towards Skidaway Rd. Once stuck in heavy traffic, a traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle, resulting in the arrest of the driver.
Anthony Mitchell, 29, was arrested and charged with theft-by-receiving stolen property.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should call CrimeStoppers, 912-234-2020, or submit an anonymous tip through the SPD mobile app.
