UPDATE (March 25, 2022): A 14-year-old girl has been charged in connection with the March 13 fatal shooting of 18-year-old Jaylen Olinde on W. 35th Street. On March 24, the suspect was transported to RYDC on charges of involuntary manslaughter. Further details are not available for release at this time.
SAVANNAH, GA (March 14, 2022) – Savannah Police detectives are investigating a March 13 fatal shooting on W. 35th Street that resulted in the death of an 18-year-old.
Around 10:30 a.m. March 13 officers responded to the 700 block of W. 35th Street and located Jaylen Olinde suffering from gunshot wounds. He died as a result of his injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing. Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Further details are not available at this time.
