Savannah – The Savannah Police Department is investigating a July 8 shooting in the 8500 block of Waters Ave. that left an adult male with non-life-threatening injury.
Officers arrived on the scene at around 8:33 p.m. based on reports of a shooting outside a commercial establishment in the area. Shortly after, additional officers responded to Memorial Health University Medical Center due to the arrival of Jernard Bacon, 38, who received a gunshot wound to his shoulder during the incident. Further investigation revealed Bacon was armed during the incident and his weapon was recovered by SPD.
Following treatment at the hospital, Bacon was taken into custody by the Savannah Police Department and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
