Update: A male juvenile was arrested in connection with the March 1 shooting in the 1600 block of Delano Street. He was charged with reckless conduct, possession of a firearm under 18 years of age, and tampering with evidence. He was taken into custody on March 6 and transported to the Chatham County Detention Center.
SAVANNAH – Savannah Police Detectives are investigating a March 1 shooting in the 1600 block of Delano Street that left an adult female with a serious injury.
Chatham EMS was called to the Delano Street residence on a report of a person having respiratory issues. When no one responded at the residence, EMS made entry and found no one inside. Shortly afterwards, they were informed that a gunshot wound victim from that residence was admitted to Memorial Health University Medical Center.
SPD canvassed the area for any potential crime scenes, but none were located. There were no reports of gunfire, and no ShotSpotter report.
