SAVANNAH, GA (January 25, 2022) – Savannah Police made two arrests in a January 2 shooting on W. Broughton Street that injured an adult male and juvenile female.
During this investigation, detectives identified Zawan Graham, 16, and Erique Street, 18, as suspects in this case. Officers gathered intelligence on these suspects, and on Friday, January 21, Graham was apprehended and charged with aggravated assault. On Monday, January 24, Street was apprehended and charged with aggravated assault.
Shortly after midnight, January 2, officers responded to the 200 block of W. Broughton Street on a report of an injured person and located an adult male with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the foot. Around the same time, officers found a juvenile female in the 100 block of Montgomery Street with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg area. Both were transported to the hospital for further treatment. Detectives later determined that both injured persons stemmed from a single incident on W. Broughton Street.
“Our detectives continue to work hard, and their persistent determination led to a break in this case,” said Chief Roy Minter. “With assistance from multiple units in the agency, two suspects responsible for this incident are being held accountable. We will continue to put an increased focus on the unlawful use of guns in our City. With the help of our community partners and local citizens, I know we can make a drastic change in the violent crime in Savannah and make an impact in youth criminal activity.”
