SAVANNAH, GA. (May 17, 2022): Savannah Police arrested a suspect in the fatal stabbing of a 51-year-old man at a W. 36th Street residence.
Around 6:15 a.m. officers responded to an apartment in the 500 block of W. 36th Street and discovered James Walter Miller suffering from serious injuries. He was transported to a hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Miller and the suspect, who were known to each other, were involved in an argument that led to the stabbing. Kenneth Paul Mayes Jr., 40, was detained at the scene. He was booked into the Chatham County jail on a charge of murder.
The investigation remains ongoing.
