SAVANNAH – The Savannah Police Department has arrested a suspect in the Jan. 2 shots fired incident in the 1000 block of Louisville Rd.
At around 5:47 p.m. officers responded to a ShotSpotter call and upon arrival discovered an adult male leaving the area. Alvin DuBois, had a minor graze wound to his arm and denied knowing who shot him. DuBois was given treatment by EMS but refused to be transported to the hospital.
Witnesses reported seeing DuBois assaulting a female, who then fired a weapon to stop the attack. The female victim called in to 911 and reported the incident. Upon further investigation, the female and DuBois were in a previous relationship, and the shooting was found to be in self-defense. DuBois was arrested and charged with battery.
