SAVANNAH, GA (March 2, 2023): Savannah Police Department has charged a 16-year-old in connection to the shooting of another teen on Pennsylvania Avenue March 1.
Officers responded to Pennsylvania Avenue at Elgin Street around 3 p.m. and discovered a 15-year-old suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg. He was transported to a hospital for treatment. Officers, who arrived on the scene, immediately identified the suspect and took him into custody following a brief foot chase.
The suspect, whose name is not being released, was booked into the Regional Youth Detention Center on charges of possession of a firearm by a minor and aggravated assault.
The investigation remains ongoing.
