SAVANNAH, Ga– The Savannah Police Department has arrested 47-year-old Nathaniel Lewis on Aug. 15 in connection with a commercial burglary in the 1700 block of E. Victory Dr.
SPD responded to the scene of a burglary in progress at around 9:12 p.m. and observed Lewis fleeing from the rear of the building. Officers pursued Lewis on foot and took him into custody, recovering stolen items from the business.
“This was phenomenal work by our officers,” said Lenny B. Gunther, Savannah Chief of Police. “On behalf of the department, I especially want to thank local businesses and the community for their support in making this arrest.”
Lewis was charged with three counts of burglary, obstruction, and criminal damage to property. His potential involvement in additional crimes is also being investigated.
