SAVANNAH, Ga– The Savannah Police Department is investigating an Aug. 27 homicide in the 600 Block of E. Anderson St. that left both the victim and the suspect deceased.
SPD responded to the scene at around 3:55 p.m. based on 911 calls. Upon arrival officers discovered an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. Chatham Emergency Medical Services and Savannah Fire personnel responded and immediately began rendering medical aid before transporting him to Memorial Health University Medical Center. He later succumbed to his wounds.
While on scene investigators determined the adult male suspect was in a nearby residence. A perimeter was established around the home, and a search warrant was secured. After entering the residence police discovered the deceased suspect with an apparent self-inflicted injury.
